Overseas Vietnamese in New South Wales , Australia , gathered in Sydney on January 27 to welcome the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
National Assembly Vice Chairman Tong Thi Phong, who is on a visit to Australia , was present at the meeting.
Addressing the ceremony, Vietnamese Consul General in Sydney Vu Hong Nam congratulated the Vietnamese community on their great contributions to the prosperity of New South Wales and Australia as well.
He said overseas Vietnamese’s contributions have helped strengthen the friendship between Viet Nam and Australia over the past years.
NA Vice Chairman Phong said that the Party and State applauded the overseas Vietnamese community’s assistance to disadvantaged people in Viet Nam . She called on foreign and overseas Vietnamese enterprises to increase investment in Viet Nam , saying that it will help strengthen national unity and consolidate the friendship between Viet Nam and Australia.
