For the first time in Nice, France, a Mid-Autumn Festival event was held on such a large scale as a cultural and artistic concert, combining performances with traditional activities for the Vietnamese community and international friends.

The program featured three main areas, bringing Vietnamese culture closer to the public through cuisine, traditional Mid-Autumn activities, and performing arts.
At the culinary space, overseas Vietnamese and international visitors enjoyed familiar Vietnamese dishes such as banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich), bun bo Hue (Hue-style beef noodle soup), and iced milk coffee. The space served as a bridge introducing the beauty of Vietnamese daily life and cuisine to local people.
At the children’s area, the atmosphere was vibrant with activities such as lantern making, lantern parades, lion dances, martial arts performances, among others. These activities allowed children, especially the younger generation of Vietnamese origin born in France, to directly experience the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere.

Cultural and artistic highlights
A highlight of the concert was the participation of artists from the Viet Nam National Music and Dance Theater. They brought to Nice folk songs, traditional dances, and traditional instrumental music.
The heartfelt performances evoked fond memories of their homeland among overseas Vietnamese while offering international friends fresh insights into Vietnamese culture and arts.
Attending the event, Valerie Bothy-Lanfranchi, Deputy Mayor of Nice in charge of Europe, International Relations, and Nice-Monaco Relations, expressed her delight at the large number of participants, especially children. She highly appreciated the Vietnamese community’s efforts in preserving and promoting national culture among younger generations while introducing these cultural values to local people.

Every year, during the eighth lunar month, the Vietnamese community in Nice gathers to organize Mid-Autumn Festival activities, providing children with opportunities to enjoy traditional games and remember their roots.
Speaking on behalf of the organizing panel, Director of the Viet Nam Cultural Center in France Dinh Ngoc Duc affirmed that events such as the Moon Welcoming mega concert hold great significance for overseas Vietnamese.
Through lanterns, lion dances, and mooncakes, children can enjoy the festival while learning more about their traditional culture. He emphasized that the center considers the Vietnamese community in France an important part of the global Vietnamese community and will continue standing alongside and associations and overseas Vietnamese in organizing cultural and artistic activities.
