The Vietnamese Consulate in Shanghai, China has held a meeting at the Holiday Sun Hotel for Vietnamese residents in the city.

More than 300 overseas Vietnamese attended the event. They exchanged experiences and recalled many historical events and sang Vietnamese songs.

“I am so happy to take part in an event which makes me feel like living in the homeland”, said Luu Thi Thuyet, who has been living in the city for many years.

Among the participants were many Vietnamese businessmen and students from universities in the city.

According to Counselor-General Nguyen Thi Nga, Head of the Vietnamese Consulate in Shanghai, the office will organise similar activities to improve relations among the Vietnamese community in the city.

“I think that these activities are very meaningful for me and other students who are living far from our country”, said Le Minh Quan, a Vietnamese student.
