Head of the liaison committee Nguyen Viet Noi and participants reminisced about their glorious days in the resistance war against the U.S. imperialists. On those days, commandos, the special forces of Hanoi, bravely and smartly conducted operations in a flexible, bold, and surprising manner, achieving resounding feats-of-arms, making historic victories, contributing to liberating the South and reunifying the nation.

In August 2014, the  liaison committee was established with the aim of paying gratitude to their comrades and educating younger generations about the historical tradition.

Over the past 11 years, the committee has held 11 gatherings, 11 root-returning trips to war cemeteries, and old battlefields. It has also had many talks during which young generations had deeper understanding of the glorious history of the nation.

In 2024, the committee actively and effectively carried out gratitude activities, frequently inquired after and gave support to families of veterans living in hard conditions, and engaged in a number of charity and social work.
