Troubled trawler rescued at sea
PANO - Ship 2005 of Naval Squadron 102 of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command on May 29 successfully towed a troubled trawler numbered NA 94584 TS with ten fishermen on board to the port of Bach Long Vi Island (Hai Phong city) and handed it over to the local border guard force.
Earlier, the command received a mayday signal from the trawler captained by Pham Van Tha, 44, from Quynh Phuong commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province, reporting that the trawler had gone adrift due to an engine failure about 30 nautical miles of Bach Long Vi Island.
Undertaking the rescue mission at 7:45 pm on May 29, the rescuing ship approached the drifting trawler and towed it with all crew-members ashore.
