Right after the road connecting between Kham Duc town, Phuoc Son district, to Phuoc Kim commune, near to Phuoc Thanh commune, was opened, vehicles immediately transported relief supplies to around 3,000 flood-hit people in Phuoc Thanh commune.
The road leading to the locality that is only nearly 10km long is divided into three transportation sections as it is a very difficult traffic route. The troops from the provincial Border Guard Command were in charge of the second section with about 4km in length. Supplies were packed in bags, weighing 30kg each. The supplies first were transported by motorbike to a gathering spot, from which soldiers had to carry on shoulder because motorbikes could not run on the road.
In fact, troops had to walk across the forest to bring the supplies to the people in needy. On their way, they are overcame difficulties due to harsh terrains of the jungle.
As scheduled, 15 tons of relief supplies will be carried to PhuocThanh commune.
Currently, there are two completely isolated communes in Phuoc Son district.
* On the same day, the local authorities of Quang Nam province also made efforts to bring relief supplies to the two flood-affected communes of Phuoc Thanh and Phuoc Loc.
As roads are cleared, Colonel Le HuyThanh, Commander of the Quang Nam provincial Military Command directed forces to transport relief supplies to Phuoc Kim commune.
The unit mobilized over 300 troops to transport about four tons of goods, including rice, noodles, clean water, and fish sauce… to 3,000 people in Phuoc Thanh and Phuoc Loc communes.
The forces overcame difficulties and challenges to deliver the supplies to the flood-hit people. Their activities contributed to promoting the beautiful images of Uncle Ho’s soldiers as well as helping them soon resume their normal lives.
