From January 8-13, the mission visited and presented gifts to Radar Station 610 of Naval Region 5’s Battalion 551, border posts of Kien Giang and Ca Mau provinces, the Coast Guard Station of Coast Guard Region 4, a lighthouse station and Regiment 152 of Military Region 9, forest protection departments and islanders.
Wishing them a joyful Tet holiday, the mission urged troops to effectively conduct patrols, search and rescue missions and keep their islands green and clean.
The troops thanked the mission for their care and expressed their determination to complete all assignments and work closely with islanders to develop island communes.
Over the past time, troops stationed on islands have always heightened their responsibility to firmly safeguard national sovereignty over seas and islands and the Southwestern part of the country. They have also coordinated with other local units, authorities, and people to ensure social order and safety in the localities, protect local forests, defense structures, and support locals in need.
