Meanwhile, the two units carried out artistic activities and folk games for children, as well as offered free haircuts to ethnic minority children in difficulties, to name but a few.

On the occasion, they launched a program to present Tet gifts to young workers, ethnic youths and disadvantaged children.

At the event, the units presented 230 gifts to policy beneficiaries and poor families; granted 16 scholarships under the “Paving the way to school for children” program to disadvantaged students in Hoa Hiep commune; provided free medical examinations and medicines to nearly 200 policy beneficiaries and needy households in the locality; and handed over national flags to people in border areas, and more.

Senior Colonel Pham Dinh Trieu, Political Commissar of the Tay Ninh provincial Border Guard Command, underlined that last year, border units coordinated with local authorities to conduct many effective programs and movements to help local people reduce poverty and raise their living standards, thereby tightening military-civilian solidarity and building a firm whole-people border defense posture, and safeguarding national sovereignty and border security.
