Within the framework of the program, a series of practical activities took place, including handing over 200 national flags and Uncle Ho’s portraits to local people in Chieng Lao commune; supporting the construction of 2 great solidarity houses for families with difficult conditions; providing free health check-ups and medicines for 550 policy beneficiaries and poor households in Chieng Lao commune, to name but a few.

Meanwhile, agencies and units, enterprises and benefactors inside and outside the province presented nearly 900 Tet gifts and a ton of sticky rice to policy beneficiaries, national contributors, underprivileged people, poor families, and disadvantaged children with excellent academic results; and presented 3870 warm clothes, 209 blankets, a water purifier, 160 kilograms of rice, 100 Chung cakes, etc. to students in Chieng Lao commune.

Also, the program included exciting activities, such as Chung cake making, tug of war, and stick pushing competitions, folk games, and artistic programs, and others.

* On the same days in Muong Sai and Chieng Khuong communes, Song Ma district, Son La province, the border post of Chieng Khuong border gate, local authorities and a voluntary group from Hanoi held a border spring program for local people.

During the program, the organizing panel presented 500 gifts to needy people in 12 villages of Muong Sai commune, Song Ma district; offered 5 tons of rice, 1,000 warm clothes, and 500 blankets to local people and students; gave 100 bicycles to disadvantaged students; and handed over 20 solar lights under the “Lighting up roads in border areas” to villages in the locality.

In addition, the organizers granted 50 gifts to policy beneficiaries and families with difficult conditions in Dan village, Muang Et district, Houaphanh province, Laos. These gifts showed the sentiments of border troops and benefactors towards disadvantaged students and needy people in Song Ma district (Vietnam) and Muang Et district (Laos), contributing to bringing a happy and cozy lunar New Year (Tet) holiday to them and tightening the great friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos in general and Son La and Houaphanh provinces in particular.
