The 90sq.m house, including a sitting room, two bedrooms, a kitchen, and sanitation facilities, was built with the total cost of VND 230 million, of which Military Region 5 donated VND 80 million.

Nguyen Thi Chau (born in 1957) is a wounded soldier. At present, she is living with her sister who is an AO victim and provided with monthly allowance. Chau and her sister are often sick and jobless and depend on Chau’s sister’s monthly allowance.

During the house construction, local organizations and militiamen contributed 120 working days to complete the house.

At the ceremony, leaders of the Political Department of Military Region 5, the Quang Ngai provincial Military Command, the Military Command of Mo Duc district, and local Party Committee and authorities presented gifts and necessities to Chau.

The Coast Guard Region 2 Command has held a ceremony to present fund to help Tran Minh Duong in Dong Giang ward (Dong Ha district, Quang Tri province) build a house. Duong is the only son of martyr Tran Con who laid down his life in the resistance war against the French colonialists.

Duong and his wife are often sick. Although their house is degraded, they can not afford to repair it.

Learning about his situation, the Coast Guard Region 2 decided to allocate VND 80 million to assist him build a house which is scheduled to be completed and handed over to his family on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Wounded Soldiers’ and Martyrs’ Day (July 27)
