Troops help locals harvest rice |
The checkpoints are mostly located near local rice fields. Since the middle of this month, Pa Co and Van Kieu people in Huong Lap commune (Huong Hoa, Quang Tri) have been harvesting ripe rice to avoid coming rains.
After learning of this situation, especially amid the pandemic, the border post urged its border guards to assist locals to complete the harvest at soon as possible.
Accordingly, they took advantage of the break time between duty shifts to help people, especially policy beneficiaries, to harvest rice.
Their good deeds have strengthened the military-civilian ties and left a deep impression on local residents.
Reportedly, over the past few months, the unit has implemented many measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 disease into the area where they are stationed.
The unit has established six check points and two teams in charge of patrolling to monitor the entry and exit of people along the shared borderline.
