Meaningful activities to commemorate fallen soldiers
PANO - The Military Youth Board under the General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), in association with the Politics Department of Military Region 4 and the Quang Tri provincial Youth Union chapter, on July 26, organized a candle-lighting and incense-burning ceremony to commemorate fallen soldiers along with an artistic program
The event saw the participation of Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, former Vice President Truong My Hoa, and Lieutenant General Le Hien Van, Deputy Director of the GDP.
On the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the wounded soldiers and martyrs' day (July 27), meaningful activities were organized, including visiting and presenting gifts to two Vietnamese heroic mothers, providing free health check-ups and medicines to more than 500 people, handing over 6 gratitude houses, and presenting savings books and more than 400 gifts to needy people. The total budget for these activities was estimated to be more than VND 1 trillion.
At the program, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh granted VND 230 million as a gift from the Support Fund for Vietnamese Children to children of policy families in Quang Tri province.
In addition, representatives of agencies and units also presented gifts to poor students with good academic records, as well as handed over gratitude houses and savings books to policy families.
