Island doctors save patient with acute appendicitis
PANO - Fisherman Phan Tan in Binh Dinh province was successfully treated for acute appendicitis thanks to the timely appendectomy conducted by staff of an infirmary on Nam Yet Island.
Earlier, patient Tan, aged 40, a native of Tam Quan Nam commune, Hoai Nhon district, Binh Dinh province was taken to the Infirmary of Nam Yet Island after suffering from severe abdominal pain while fishing at sea. At the medical center, Tan was diagnosed with appendicitis.
Immediately, the center’s doctors decided to perform an emergency surgery on him. After the successful operation, the patient was described as stable and is now recovering.
The doctors and troops on the Nam Yet Island visited and presented gifts to fisherman Phan Tan and the other crew-members.
