Houses presented to families in Ninh Binh and Ca Mau

The house was built with the financial support of VND 60 million from the Ministry of National Defense’s “For the Poor” Fund, under a decision by the Commander of the Viet Nam Coast Guard. The remaining construction costs were contributed by Maj. Giap’s family and relatives.

Reconnaissance Team 1 and authorities of Gia Tuong Commune hand over the house to the family of Major Dinh Nguyen Giap.

At the handover ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Tien Giang, Political Officer of Reconnaissance Team 1, affirmed that the house reflects the attention of the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense and Viet Nam Coast Guard toward officers facing housing difficulties. The house also provides meaningful encouragement for them to feel secure in their duties and accomplish all assigned missions.

On the occasion, the unit, local authorities and other agencies and units presented many practical gifts to Maj. Giap’s family.

Sr. Col. Bui Quang Pham, Political Commissar of Brigade 175, presents the gratitude house to the family of Pham Van Dep in Ca Mau.

* On the same day, Brigade 175 of Naval Region 5 held a ceremony to hand over a gratitude house to the family of Pham Van Dep in Tan Tien Commune, Ca Mau Province. Mr. Dep is the biological son of martyr Pham Van Sat, who was killed in action in 1964, and currently maintains the family altar in his memory.

The 60-square-meter house’s construction was started in late April and completed after more than three months. Valued at VND 80 million, the house was funded by the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund of the Viet Nam People’s Navy.

This was a practical activity expressing the tradition “When drinking water, remember its source” and profound gratitude to policy beneficiaries and national contributors, contributing to spreading the nation’s good traditions and tightening the military-civilian solidarity.
