Ho Chi Minh City’s armed forces deploy rice ATM
PANO – Under the instruction of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, the Military Command in Tan Phu District worked with local agencies to launch a rice ATM on April 28 to assist local residents in need during COVID-19 pandemic.
Accordingly, organizations, businesses, benefactors and troops donated more than 20 tons of rice for the model. Each local will receive more than 2kg of rice per day at the ATM. For those with disabilities and the elderly, troops will bring rice to their home.
During the program, troops will also update local people on the development of the disease and methods to protect themselves from being infected by the virus.

According to Colonel Dang Van Luoc, Commissar of the Military Command of Tan Phu District, the unit advised the Party Committee and People’s Committee of the district to launch the ATM to help those affected by the pandemic. The unit cooperated with local authorities and agencies to popularize the significance of the model and call for more support from organizations, businesses, benefactors, and troops.
The rice ATM machine on Le Sat street, Tan Phu ward will operate until late May.
