Gifts presented to poor Khmer ethnic students in Tay Ninh’s border area
PANO - The representative office of the Vietnam Veterans’ Newspaper in Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with Lo Go Border Post under the Tay Ninh provincial Border Guard Command, held a program on August 17 to hand over gifts to needy students in Hoa Hiep Commune, Tan Bien District, Tay Ninh province.
On this occasion, the delegation presented 100 gift sets, including school bags, notebooks, shirts, and 10 bicycles, worth VND 90 million in total, to children of needy veterans and Khmer people in the locality.

Thanks to the care of the Tay Ninh province’s authorities, border guard force, businesses, and benefactors, the living conditions of the Khmer people have improved significantly. However, some students still lack essential school supplies, clothing, and bicycles. In response, the Vietnam Veterans’ Newspaper has mobilized donations from businesses and benefactors. These gifts are significant, helping students from needy families of veterans and of the Khmer community start the new school year with greater confidence.

On behalf of Hoa Hiep commune's leadership, Vice Chairwoman of the Commune People's Committee Phung Thi Mai Huyen expressed her deepest gratitude to the bureau of the Vietnam Veterans’ Newspaper in Ho Chi Minh City and the benefactors. She affirmed that the program has strengthened the bond between the authorities and people of Hoa Hiep commune and the local border guard force, veterans, and other supporters. It has also fostered ongoing efforts to build a prosperous homeland, ensure political security, social order and safety in the border area.
