According to the organizers, houses in the program will help ease housing difficulty for poor households and families of troops, as a source of encouragement for them to contribute more to their units and exert all-out efforts in production, hunger elimination and poverty reduction. It also helps realize the national target program on building new-style rural areas in communes and towns.
At the launch of the program, 40 agencies and units under the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense committed to giving financial support to build 3,852 houses, including 1,646 houses of comradeship.

Receiving 30 great unity houses, on behalf of local authorities and people, Chairman of Dinh Hoa district People’s Committee Nguyen Minh Tu emphasized that over the past years, military agencies and units have supported the district hundreds of billion VND to build roads, bridges, cultural houses, great unity houses and present gifts to poor households and policy beneficiary families. Thanks to that, the district’s multidimensional poverty rate in the 2022-2023 period reduced to 9.6 per cent from over 32 per cent in previous years.
Addressing the event, Gen. Gau underlined that the engagement and contribution of kind hearts throughout the country, with “Millions of loving hearts and Thousands of happy homes,” will be a great source of motivation for households living in hard conditions to promote internal strength, try their best to lead a prosperous and happier life, contributing to building a prosperous and happy socialist Vietnam.

The program, lasting till the end of November 2024, targets to build 8,000 houses to celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army with VND 80 million for a house of comradeship and VND 50 million for a great unity house.
Since 2021, the whole military has supported the construction of 8,126 houses, including 3,126 houses of comradeships and 5,000 houses of gratitude and great unity, with the total value of over VND 500 billion.
