Distressed people at sea rescued
PANO – Troops of the Cua Sot Border Check-point of Ha Tinh provincial Border Guard Command, on August 26, mobilized fishermen in Thach Kim commune, Loc Ha district to take Tran Xuan Dong, a troubled fisherman, ashore for treatment.
Fisherman Nguyen Van Thao taken to An Bang Island
Dong, 37, from Nghe An province’s Quynh Luu district had a accident while working on trawler NA 9789 and fainted due to bleeding. The trawler’s captain called the check-point for help.
Receiving the news, the unit mobilized two nearby trawlers to approach the scene and take the troubled fisherman to hospital for treatment.
Earlier on August 25, troops on An Bang Island successfully saved fisherman Nguyen Van Thao who had a health problem while fishing in the waters of the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands. Thao on board trawler KH 91818TS was given first aid by medical staff on Thuyen Chai Island before being taken to An Bang Island for better treatment.
Cadres on An Bang Island inquired after and encouraged the patient and helped the fishermen on the trawler to anchor their trawler.
