Defense leader presents gifts to policy beneficiaries in Binh Duong
PANO – On September 28, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Defense Minister, along with a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense, paid a visit to and presented gifts to policy beneficiaries and needy families in Dau Tieng district, Binh Duong province.
Also in attendance were Major General Dang Van Lam, Deputy Commander of Military Region 7, the delegation of Binh Duong province’s National Assembly deputies, and representatives from the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, among others.
In 2023, the Minister of National Defense decided to provide financial support for the construction of 5 gratitude houses and the distribution of gifts to policy beneficiaries in Binh Duong province.
Following the defense minister's decision, the provincial military command has collaborated with the local authorities to select policy beneficiaries and families facing difficulties in the province to build houses and present gifts to them. The handover ceremonies of these 5 houses were conducted during the 76th anniversary of the Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs' Day on July 27. On this occasion, the Ministry of National Defense also gave 100 gift packages to policy families and those facing difficulties in the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong emphasized that over the past time, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense have consistently focused on leading and guiding the successful implementation of the gratitude movements and the "Military joins hand to build new-style rural area” program. This reflects the deep sense of responsibility and dedication of Uncle Ho’s soldiers for the community.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong also praised various sectors and agencies of Binh Duong province and Dau Tieng district for their outstanding work and efforts in social welfare, which serves as a shining example for the entire nation. The chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army expressed his hope that these families will continue to overcome difficulties, stabilize their life, and actively contribute to the development of their local communities.
