Coast guards present gifts to needy fishermen
PANO - The Coast Guard Region 1 Command, in collaboration with the Quang Binh provincial Party Committee’s Commission on Mass Mobilization, organized a gift presentation ceremony for fishermen badly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic on May 11 in Quang Loc commune, Ba Don townlet, Quang Binh province.
At the ceremony, 50 gifts, each including 10kg of rice, one pack of monosodium glutamate, and VND 300,000 in cash, were presented to needy fishermen.

According to Pham Chi Thanh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Quang Loc commune, the commune is home to 2,272 households with 9,157 people, and two third of them are Christianity followers. Nearly 40 percent of the commune’s population is fishermen. The commune has 55 offshore fishing boats.
The gifts are meaningful to needy fishermen and the command’s activity has contributed to consolidating the close military-civilian ties.
