At Phu Hai fishing port in Phu Thuy ward, the working mission disseminated information about national sea and islands, focusing on regulations against illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing. Fishing boat owners signed commitments not to violate IUU fishing rules. The delegation also presented 40 gifts to local policy beneficiary families and disadvantaged fishermen, and 10 gift packages including national flags, medical bags, life jackets, and flashlights to fishermen.
At the event, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command and Lam Dong Newspaper and Radio - Television signed a cooperation program to promote information dissemination about national sea and islands through print, online, and social media. The command and Lam Dong Provincial Department of Education and Training signed an agreement on joint dissemination, education activities, and organization of the contest “I love national sea and islands” for the 2024-2030 period and following years.

Senior Colonel Le Van Tu, Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command, emphasized that the program and contest have effectively raised public awareness of building and defending national maritime sovereignty, as well as encouraging fishermen to comply with laws and contribute to a sustainable, responsible, and globally integrated fishing industry.
* Meanwhile, on November 3-4, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, in coordination with the An Giang Provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization and Ha Tien Ward Party and People’s Committees, organized the “Coast Guards accompany fishermen” program 2025.

The program screened a legal education film “Mock trial” on an illegal fishing case, providing information on laws related to IUU fishing prevention, the Fisheries Law, and the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard. Over 300 leaflets, 200 handbooks, and 250 law books were distributed to help fishermen understand legal regulations for offshore operations.
In coordination with Nguoi Lao Dong (The Laborer) Newspaper, the unit presented 300 national flags, 30 portraits of Uncle Ho, and 30 medical bags to fishing vessels. It also gave 30 gifts, each worth VND 1 million, to poor and near-poor households and disadvantaged fishermen.
Responding to the program, Youth Union Organizations from the Coast Guard Region 4 Command and Ha Tien ward conducted a coastal cleanup, collecting over 1.5 tons of waste.
