The delegation, including representatives from localities, and crew members of Ship 390 under the Coast Guard Region 2 Command offered flowers and incense in tribute to the heroic martyrs of the “no number ships” at Point C43B, Quy Thien beach, Khanh Cuong Commune, Quang Ngai Province, and held a flag-raising ceremony at the Ly Son Flagpole, a sacred symbol of national sovereignty.

The delegation also paid tribute to heroic martyrs at the Ly Son War Cemetery and the Hoang Sa Flotilla Memorial, expressing their gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives to defend the nation’s maritime sovereignty and recalling the proud tradition of the Ly Son people.

Following the ceremony, the delegation met with Ly Son Special Zone’s leaders to discuss local socio-economic development, defense, security, public affairs, and social welfare.

Sr. Col. Tran Hong Que commended the island’s unity and progress in marine tourism, sustainable fisheries, and anti-IUU fishing efforts.

The delegation also surveyed the An Hai anchorage area, met with local fishermen, and presented national flags and gifts to exemplary boat owners, encouraging them to maintain their livelihoods, develop the marine economy, and contribute to safeguarding national sovereignty at sea.

On the same day, at the hall of the Ly Son Special Zone People’s Committee, Coast Guard Region 2 Command, in coordination with the Information, Education and Mass Mobilization Commission of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, organized a conference on maritime awareness and regulations on anti-IUU fishing. The event also included the presentation of 300 national flags and 80 gift packages to disadvantaged fishermen in the area, helping raise awareness of legal compliance and encouraging responsible, sustainable marine economic development.
