Coast Guard Region 2 extends Christmas greetings to Quang Tri parishioners
PANO - The Coast Guard Region 2 Command and the Mass Mobilization Commission of the Quang Ngai provincial Party Committee visited and presented gifts to ethnic minority people who are Seventh-Day Adventist Church followers in Son Ha mountainous commune, Son Ha district, Quang Ngai province on December 20.

The event was attended by Senior Colonel Tran Hong Que, Deputy Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, and Mr. Tran Ngoc Nguyen, deputy head of the Quang Ngai Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, and representatives from local party committees and authorities.
The visit and gift-presenting event were part of the program “Coast guards stand side-by-side with ethnic and religious people,” jointly implemented by the Coast Guard Region 2 Command and the mass mobilization commissions of Central provinces and cities over the past time.
At the event, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command presented 50 Christmas gifts, worth VND 1 million each, to local disadvantaged households.
The two units also paid a pre-Christmas visit to Son Ha branch of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and the Protestant Church.

Pastor Dinh Mi, head of the Board of Representatives of the Vietnamese Seventh-day Adventist Church in Quang Ngai province, said that the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s Son Ha commune branch has 62 households, 266 followers who are from the Hre ethnic minority group and living in a hard conditions.
He sent a token of gratitude to the Coast Guard Region 2 Command and the Quang Ngai provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission for their care and sharing, saying that it was a source of encouragement to the church followers to live a good life, bring into play the solidarity between followers and followers, contributing to local security and order.
