A delegation of the People’s Army Newspaper (PAN) on April 20 presented medical supplies and necessities to the Me Linh district’s Military Command (under the Hanoi Capital Command).

The delegation handed over gifts, totally worth VND 30 million, to the district’s military command, including 2,000 medical masks, a box of antiseptic gel, and other necessities.

Earlier, on April 13, the PAN also offered medical supplies to the Hanoi Capital Command, totally worth VND 40 million, to help them in COVID-19 prevention and control work.

This activity was part of a program launched by the PAN in support of military units in the fight against COVID-19. Amid the complicated development of COVID-19, the PAN has also promoted information about the Party's, State's, Government's, National Assembly's, Army's and all people’s effort to prevent and control COVID-19.

So far, the military newspaper has coordinated with many organizations and individuals to present gifts, totally worth nearly VND 2 billion, to military units working on the front line of the fight against the pandemic.

* On the same day, the Naval Region 1 Command held a program, themed “Naval Region 1 joins hands with fishermen in COVID-19 prevention and control”.

In the framework of the program, at Mat Rong port, the naval region command presented 100 national flags, 5,000 face masks, 60 bottle of antiseptic liquid and 1,000 leaflets with information about COVID-19 prevention and control to the locals.

The program was to raise the local people’s awareness of the COVID-19 pandemic, while affirming the determination of the military unit as well as authorities at all levels to stand side by side with the local people in the fight against COVID-19.

In the coming time, the Naval Region 1 Command will present gifts and disseminate measures against COVID-19 to people in Ha Tu ward, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province.

* In response to the complicated development of COVID-19, a charitable team in Dien Bien Phu city (Dien Bien province) has made thousands of face masks to present them to anti-COVID-19 forces and people during the pandemic.

The three-layer face masks have been offered to needy people and ethnic minorities in the locality. So far, the team has offered more than 3,000 handmade face masks to different groups of people.

The goal of the group is to soon complete 10,000 face masks for needy people to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic.
