Private First Class Dang Ngoc Son |
PANO – Private First Class Dang Ngoc Son, a soldier from Battalion 1 of Regiment 143 under Military Zone 5’s Division 315 has returned a purse he had found with VND 30 million and some important papers inside to its owner.
On June 15th, Son found the purse on his way from his unit’s breeding area to his barrack. Without any hesitation, the young soldier who was born into a poor family reported to his commander to find the purse’s owner.
The purse was verified to be of Mr. Nguyen Van Tam in Binh An commune, Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province. Tam has been involved in a construction project in the regiment.
Tam was very happy and deeply touched at Son’s deed and offered him a gift as a token of thanks but Son refused to accept.
Being commented by his commanders, Son said: “It is normal to return the lost property to its owner. My comrades will do the same if they are in my circumstance.”
In acknowledgement of his good deed, Son was honoured at a conference to review the unit’s work in the first six months of the year. His beautiful act contributes to beautifying the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and deserves to be a bright example for others to follow.
