Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and the leadership of the Ministry of National Defense (MND), Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong praised agencies and units in the whole military for their efforts in carrying out assigned missions.
To successfully fulfill training, regularity building, and discipline observance work in the coming time, the GS’s Chief asked Party committees, Party organizations, and chains-of-command at all levels to continue to thoroughly study and strictly implement the CMC and MND’s resolutions and directives, especially Resolution 1659-NQ/QUTW on raising training quality in the 2023-2030 period and the years to come; issue guidelines and measures based on agencies and units’ situation; enhance organizations and individuals’ awareness and responsibility of training and combat readiness missions.
He urged the whole military to strictly maintain combat readiness; closely follow the developments of situations in the air, at sea, and in border areas; collaborate with local forces to maintain political security and public order, especially during holidays and at important events.
The GS’s Chief noted that the whole military should thoroughly grasp and apply three viewpoints, eight principles, and six combinations in training; pay attention to weaponry and military equipment mastery training; foster the organization of competitions at all levels. In the short term, he asked the military to focus on training and checking the quality of “three explosions” training for recruits, command and staff exercises, and live-fire exercises.
Together with closely combining training and regularity building and discipline observance, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong asked the whole military to carry out the MND’s directive on building comprehensively strong, exemplary, and outstanding units in a stricter manner; foster the building of model units in line-up regulation training, regularity building, and discipline observance; raise the quality of training, management of weapons and petrol for training; well manage and invest in building firing ranges and training grounds.
At the event, on being briefed on the military’s implementation of training, regularity building, and discipline observance work in the first quarter of 2023 by Chief of the Department of Military Training Lieutenant General Thai Van Minh, delegates started discussions focusing on the outstanding outcomes in training and combat readiness of the whole military over the past time as well as shortcomings and measures to address them in the coming time.
