General Luong Cuong speaking at the conference |
Since the beginning of the year, military units and agencies have grasped and well implemented all directives and resolutions on Party and political work of the Party Central Committee, Central Military Commission, and Defense Ministry, while performing their assigned military-defense tasks.
They have actively improved the quality of political and ideological education, proactively fired at wrong views and distorted allegations of hostile forces, effectively conducted emulation campaigns, well ensured internal political stability, and contributed their part to building a comprehensively-strong Military Party Organization.
In addition, military units have joined hands in responding to natural disasters and unexpected issues, boosting poverty reduction, and strengthening strong political systems at the grassroots level.
During the conference, delegates also pointed out difficulties and shortcomings in the implementation of the Party and political work, and proposed solutions to strengthen the efficiency of the work in the time to come.
In his speech, General Cuong highly valued efforts of Party committees and officers in charge of political work at all levels in thoroughly grasping and seriously implementing Party and political work, contributing to building a strong army in terms of politics.
In the coming time, units in the whole military should focus on major emulation movements in celebration of 50 years of implementing President Ho Chi Minh’s testament, 30th Whole People's Defense Festive Day, 75th founding anniversary of the VPA, “Determined to Win” Emulation Congresses of under-ministerial defense agencies, and ninth Army Emulation Congress.
General Cuong also requested that they should seriously study and follow resolutions of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Defense Ministry; promote troops’ political stance; raise combat strength of Party organizations; well prepare for Party congresses of the 2020-2025 tenure at all levels in the military; well do mass mobilization to tighten the military-civilian ties; and be ready for search and rescue missions.
