PANO – More than 50 veterans of Division 10 of Army Corps 3 in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Central Highlands, and Khanh Hoa province on September 19th gathered in Nha Trang City on the occasion of its founding day.

Formed on September 20th, 1972 in Kon Tum, the division took part in battles to liberate Buon Ma Thuot, annihilate an enemy post on the Phuong Hoang mountain pass on National Road 26, and liberate Nha Trang and Cam Ranh Military Port. The unit’s troops also contributed to the liberation of Sai Gon (present Ho Chi Minh City), carried out international service in Cambodia, and protected the Northern border from 1979 to 1987.

For its feats of arms, the unit was honoured with the title of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces twice.

In peacetime, the unit’s former troops have promoted solidarity and taken good care of each other.

On the occasion, 40 veterans of the unit in Khanh Hoa province were presented with insignias from the unit’s liaison board.
