Third English Olympiad kicked off
PANO – The General Staff held a ceremony on April 13 to kick off the third English Olympiad for cadets from academies and schools in the whole military.
Major General Nguyen Van Oanh, Director of the Department of Military School Management under the General Staff, chaired the opening ceremony.

Speaking at the event, Major General Nguyen Van Oanh emphasized the significance of the contest. He said that the English Olympiad is held to evaluate the quality of English learning and teaching in the military. It is also to create an opportunity for military academies and schools to exchange experience in teaching and learning English and promote learning and teaching movement.
The director of the Department of Military School Management hoped that participating cadets will be determined to obtain the highest results at the event.
The third edition, themed “Proud of Vietnam,” sees the participation of around 200 cadets from 18 academies and schools in the whole military.
In the qualifying round for individuals, participants will demonstrate their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. In group category, each participating team is assigned to send a video of its teammates’ eloquence to the organizing panel.
The best teams from the qualifying round will meet at the final competition, which is scheduled to take place on April 16.
