During the working session, Major General Nguyen Van Lanh, Political Commissar of Army Corps 3, briefed the delegation on its task performance for search, collection and verification of unidentified martyrs’ remains in 2022.

In detail, the Party Committee of Army Corps 3 and leaders at all levels have strictly implemented the Prime Minister’s Decision on search, collection, and verification of unidentified remains of fallen soldiers by 2030 and subsequent years; Steering Committee 515’s program on the implementation of search, collection and identification martyrs’ remains in the 2021-2025 period; and directives of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense (MND).

Meanwhile, Army Corps 3 has built concrete plans and programs for the search, collection and identification of martyrs’ remains with inadequate information; conducted dissemination activities about the work inside and outside the unit via various forms. Up to now, Army Corps 3 has completed the list of martyrs’ remains and the supplemental information of 46,822 martyrs. Since 2013, the unit has collected 134 remains of fallen soldiers.

Addressing the event, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong applauded the great efforts of Army Corps 3 in search, collection and identification of martyrs’ remains over the past time.

Also, Gen. Luong required the unit to closely coordinate with functional agencies of Steering Committee 515 and MND to effectively implement the work and asked Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces to create favorable conditions to support Army Corps 3 as well as military units and agencies in carrying out the work.

The unit should heighten troops’ responsibilities in search, collection and identification of martyrs’ remains and strictly embrace the Party’s resolutions and decisions, the programs of the Government and the Steering Committee 515.

Information dissemination should be boosted to get information related to missing troops, verify their remains, decode information, complete compiling the list of fallen soldiers and build a national database on fallen troops and their burial places.

Also, the unit should promote conducting the search and collections in important areas.

On the occasion, Gen. Luong and the working mission laid flowers and offered incense at Army Corps 3’s Martyrs' Monument, as well as inquired after the team’s members who are searching and collecting remains of fallen soldiers.
