The statue was constructed in more than two months with funds donated by the command’s troops.
This structure is to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the National Day (September 2, 1945-2021) and 52 years since President Ho Chi Minh passed away (September 2, 1969-2021).
The statute was adapted from the work "Listening to the nation’s appeal" by Vu Trong Khoi, featuring the image of Uncle Ho caringly instructing a border guard. The copper-painted statue weighing 1.5 tons, 1.65m in height, is placed on a three-level pedestal. The pedestal is engraved with Uncle Ho’s verse for the border guards at a patriotic emulation congress on March 2, 1962.
The statue is placed at the campus of the Border Post of Hong Van Border Gate to encourage troops to study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and lifestyle and to stay united, overcome difficulties to obtain more achievements.
On this occasion, the post held various meaningful activities, such as flower-offering at the statue and tree-planting.
