Particularly, hostile forces have taken advantage of the rapid and widespread effects of mass media, such as social networks and the Internet, to implement the “Peaceful evolution” plot on ideological and cultural fields, he added. The situation required the PAN to develop operational models, organizations and facilities to become a multimedia news agency, contributing to meeting their task requirements in the current context, he stressed.
Together with completing the master plan, PAN’s relevant agencies actively ran their work as the model of a multimedia press agency. The newspaper now has various publications such as the printed daily; the online newspaper featuring Vietnamese, English, Chinese, Lao and Khmer editions; the weekly newspaper “The Weekend”; the monthly magazine “Events and Witnesses”; and daily audio and weekly video news. In addition, the agency also held talks on matters of public concern while launching social activities such as art programs, cycling races, and so on.
Concluding his working session, General Nghia hailed PAN for their energy in developing the newspaper towards the model of a multimedia news agency, stressing that it is an obvious trend of the press development. He also urged the newspaper to continue completing the master plan to submit to higher levels for approval.
