Navy opens 2017 sports festival
PANO – The Vietnam People's Navy kicked off its biennial sports festival on July 12 at the Naval Academy in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province.
The festival aimed to evaluate the quality of training, physical exercise, and sport activities of naval units as well as to further promote the movement of physical training across the service.
This year’s festival drew the participation of the largest-ever number of coaches and athletes.

The participants will compete for sets of medals in 9 events, namely volleyball, badminton, table tennis, swimming, K91 hurdle race, strong soldiers and, for the first time, tennis and four joint military exercises.
The tournament, which runs till July 21, is also to select outstanding athletes for the naval sports team in preparation for the 2017 Military Sports Festival.
