Maj. Gen. Tran Quoc Dung presents MND gifts to national contributors |
At the meeting, Gen. Dung presented gifts and informed the delegates of the gratitude activities conducted by the military. Over the past time, the MND's leaders have proactively and effectively advised the Party and the State to carry out many policies for troops and their families.
Units and agencies in the military have effectively implemented policies for national contributors who had made large contributions to the national liberation wars against the French and American invaders, or those who had served international service.
In addition, they have also strengthened search and repatriation, as well as the identification of martyrs' remains.
In 2020, the military built 570 gratitude houses, took care of 1,853 Vietnamese heroic mothers, presented 40 savings books, and provided free health check-ups and medicines for 46,100 people.
Gen. Dung expressed his hope that the national contributors will continue promoting their glorious revolutionary tradition, actively contributing to local socio-economic development and being a good example for younger generations in their localities.
