MND’s quarantine facilities can accommodate up to 45,000 people
PANO - As many as 141 quarantine facilities under the Ministry of National Defense (MND) have received and quarantined nearly 23,000 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or returned home from pandemic-hit areas.

These facilities can accommodate up to 45,000 people.
As reported by Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army at a teleconference on March 25 in Hanoi under the chair of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, head of the National Steering Board for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, military units have ensured all necessitiesfor the quarantined people.
Besides, the MND has been developing plans to ensure forces and vehicles for quarantine facilities and to avoid overload in these places. The Ministry has also urged these facilities to strictly observe regulations to prevent cross infections.
In his closing speech at the meeting, Deputy PM Dam assigned different missions to relevant ministries. Accordingly, the MND will continue to be on the front line in the fight against COVID-19 and will task its affiliates to manage concentrated quarantine facilities.
The Heath Ministry was asked to prepare medical equipment and vehicles to quickly respond to the more complicated development of the pandemic and concentrate on timely and quick tests for suspected COVID-19 cases.
Dam also called on all people to raise their responsibility for the efforts by limiting movement and applying preventive measures to ensure safety for themselves and other people.
