At the event

The event was chaired by Major General Nguyen Xuan Kien, the Department’s Director and Head of the Steering Board on COVID-19 Prevention and Control under the Ministry of National Defense and attended by Major General Tran Viet Tien, Director of Military Hospital 103. 

Speaking at the event, General Kien emphasized that thanks to good preparation and strict execution of COVID-19 prevention and control regulations, the military has ensured absolute safety for troops, especially those carrying out disease prevention and control in border areas, quarantine areas and military hospitals. So far, the military has not recorded a COVID-19 case.

He emphasized that preventing COVID-19 transmission, taking samples and treating COVID-19 cases are important missions of units in the military in general and military medical force in particular in the coming time when Vietnam resumes normal activities after COVID-19.

During the conference, experts from Military Hospital 103 equipped trainees with different measures to ensure biosecurity, take samples for SARS-CoV-2 tests and diagnose and treat COVID-19 patients. Participants were updated with domestic and international advancements in treating COVID-19 cases as well as measures to prevent and control the spread of the virus in medical establishments.

After the event, military medical experts answered trainees’ queries relating to the work.

The Director of the Military Medical Department asked medical personnel to make further recommendations to their units’ leaders for hosting courses and providing troops with methods to protect themselves from being affected by the virus.
