Speaking at the event, Sr. Col. Vu Van Dien shared that over the past years, the command’s agencies and units have actively plant and take care of trees to create a clean, green and beautiful landscape and regular barracks.

He also required them to promote dissemination to raise troops’ awareness of the significance of tree planting, thereby enhancing tree planting movement associated with building green, clean and beautiful units.

Over the past time, MR9’s units have actively promoted the movement of planting and taking care of trees and protecting the environment.

In response to the “Forever grateful to Uncle Ho” tree planting festival, the units have boosted dissemination and education to raise troops’ awareness of the significance of tree planting, afforestation and forest protection.

After the launching ceremony, officers and soldiers planted trees surrounding their barracks.

* In Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Thuan provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, the Naval Region 2 Command and its agencies and units jointly launched the tree planting festivals on May 19.

Addressing the event, Senior Colonel Pham Quyet Tien, Second-in-Commander of Naval Region 2, required the party committees and chains-of-commands at all levels to effectively implement information dissemination and education among troops about the benefits of tree planting and encourage troops to actively participate in planting, taking care of and protecting green trees.

This was a practical activity of Naval Region 2’s troops to mark the 134th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, 65 years since President Ho Chi Minh launched the tree planting festival and the 80th foundation anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and implement the program to plant one billion trees “For a Green Vietnam” launched by Prime Minister.

After the ceremony, troops in the whole Naval Region 2 look after flowers and trees and cleaned up the environment surrounding their barracks and planted more than 22,000 trees of different types.
