Military units beef up information dissemination on tobacco harm
PANO - The Department of Military Medicine under the Ministry of National Defense and the Military Engineer Officer Training School recently held a meeting on tobacco harm for over 500 cadres, instructors, and cadets.
The event was part of the cooperation activities between the Department of Military Medicine and other units in disseminating tobacco harmful effects.
The dissemination session
During the event, the department’s speakers highlighted a number of topics, such as the Law on the Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harm, the harmful effects of smoking on health and environment, the building of a no-smoking environment in the military, smoking addiction treatment, to name but a few. The department also distributed materials to the school for further dissemination.
The information dissemination contributed to raising the school’s troops’ awareness of tobacco harmful effects; encouraging addicts to get rid of smoking; and building up a “non-smoking education institution.”
