PANO – The Ministry of National Defence (MoD) on March 28th held a meeting to review task implementation in fighting smuggling, trade fraud, and criminal activities before, during and after the lunar New Year, and also had a working session with relevant units.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung, Deputy Defence Minister and Head of the Steering Board 1389 chaired the meeting.
Accordingly, after a three-month implementation during the lunar New Year, military units discovered nearly 2,200 smuggling and trade fraud cases with more than 2,600 criminals. The number of cases reduced by 50% compared to last year, making contributions to protecting people’ health and ensuring security and safety.
In addition, organising bodies of MoD were asked to carry out assigned missions and enhance cooperation with neighbouring countries’ forces in exchanging information and fighting crime.
