PANO – The Military Central Commission summoned key personnel of the whole army on May 26th to a conference to study and roll out the implementation of the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress. Member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, Permanent member of the Central Military Commission, and Director of the General Department of Politics, Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong chaired the conference.

Present at the conference were: Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Defense Minister, Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang; Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong; Lieutenant General Le Chiem; and leaders of agencies of the Defense Ministry, general departments, services, corps, military zones, academies, army corps and equivalent defense units.

Addressing the opening session, Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong highlighted the success of the 12th National Party Congress. He emphasized that the organization of the conference aimed to reach high consensus of the whole army on the Party’s stance, directions, objectives, tasks, solutions and measures to develop the country and to protect the Fatherland in the years ahead. 

To study, roll out and implement the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress effectively, efficiently and at high quality across the army, the Director of the General Department of Politics asked participants to first perceive the importance and significance of the Resolution and other related documents of the 12th National Party Congress. Speakers at the conference were supposed to focus their discussions and analyses on the Party’s essential viewpoint, major guidelines, new contents stated in the documents, and on the 6 central tasks defined by the 12th National Party Congress. The participating key cadres of the military should seriously study and grasp all themes discussed during the conference. They should relate theories to practices and relate their acquired knowledge to the implementation of tasks of their agencies and units during the course. 

The Director of the General Department of Politics asked Party committees at all levels to draw up concrete plans to deploy and implement Instruction 225 of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission and the Instruction of the General Department of Politics to organize information and education drives on the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress for agencies and units.

Military academies, universities and schools were also requested to add new contents from the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 10th Military Party Congress to course books of military social sciences and humanities.

On the schedule, the conference covers three topics: basic contents of the Political Report of the 12th National Party Congress; review of the results of 2011-2015 national socioeconomic development and of the directions for 2016-2020 national socioeconomic development; summary of the implementation of the Resolution of the Fourth Meeting of the 11th tenure Party Central Committee, named “Urgent issues of current Party building work.” 

The conference will also hear the Draft Action Program of the Central Military Commission to implement the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 10th Military Party Congress.

The conference is scheduled to close on the afternoon of May 27th.
