Dear readers and friends,
2017 has been considered a busy but successful year of PANO. During the year, we, PANO’s staff, closely followed and gave information about all important developments in the domestic and international situations as well as reported major domestic events and issues of public concern on time, to readers.
During the year, we focused on covering big events, such as working sessions of the National Assembly of the 14th term, Vietnam’s hosting of the APEC Summit Week in November and celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Tet Mau Than (1968) General Offensive and Uprising as well as defense and military events. PANO also reported visits and activities in localities and units across the country of the Party, State, National Assembly and Government.
Particularly, PANO gave a good deal of information about working visits of defense leaders to defense agencies and military units, defense and military affairs, activities of military units and relations between the military and civilian sector.
PANO also covered issues of public concern. These included articles about legal framework and real practices of human rights in Vietnam, socio-economic development, natural disasters and rescue and calamity relief missions of military units, as well as culture, tourism, social affairs and overseas Vietnamese.
As Vietnam is promoting international integration, PANO has focused on covering events and issues relating to foreign relations over the year. These included visits of leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, Government, agencies and localities to other countries, and visits of leaders of other countries to Vietnam. We also reported multilateral forums and activities with the participation of Vietnam, particularly the APEC Summit Week in Da Nang city in November, and ASEAN events.
2017 was a year of success in terms of foreign relations of the defense sector. In fact, a large number of visits of Vietnamese defense leaders to other countries as well as visits of top defense officials of other countries to Vietnam were reported by PANO during 2017.
Dear readers and friends, 2017 also saw a breakthrough in PANO’s information and dissemination when it started its first Video Monthly English News Program from December. As the news program is scheduled on the first week of a month, it covers the most important domestic events and issues as well as foreign affairs of the country happening in the previous month.
Over the past year, we, PANO’s staff, have worked hard and spared no effort to update our dear readers on domestic events and issues as well as foreign affairs. In 2018, we have planned to expand our video reports and continue improving the quality of written articles as well. We hope that our readers and friends will continue joining and supporting us so that we can bring the best information products to you.
On the occasion of this Tet, we wish you all good health, success at work and happiness in life!
Thank you and all the best to you!
