GS Chief inspects Army Officer Candidate School No.2

PANO - A delegation of the General Staff (GS) of the Vietnam People’s Army, led by its Chief and Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, inspected the one side - two level command and staff exercise with tabletop and field training contents, combining with a live-fire exercise, of the Army Officer Candidate School No.2.

During the exercise, General Cuong inspected and assigned training scenarios for each teams, while requesting the steering committee of the exercise to map out scenarios in line with reality with high quality. The GS Chief also expressed his delight at the good performance of the troops during the event.

After the exercise, the delegation, together with representatives of the participating units, reviewed the outcomes of the exercise. Addressing the conference, General Cuong hailed the Defense Ministry’s affiliated units, the Army Academy, the Army Officer Candidate School No.2, and other functional forces, for strictly grasping the directives of the defense minister, overcoming difficulties to make preparation for the exercise, and organizing the exercise as scheduled with absolute safety.

He also emphasized that via the exercise, the unit should renovate contents and measures on implementing the exercise, study recent wars and conflicts in order to find out suitable tactics, thereby applying to education and training programs, among others.
