PANO – The General Staff on July 18th handed over gratitude houses to 9 national contributors in districts of the province of Hoa Binh province.

Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty directly handed over two houses to the families of Martyr Bui Van Chanh and Martyr Bui Van Thanh in Kim Boi district, who laid down their lives in the War of Resistance against the American Imperialists.

The house presentation this time is part of the activities to mark the 68th Vietnamese Day for Martyrs and Wounded Soldiers. Chief of the General Staff Do Ba Ty hailed the efforts of the Command of Military Zone 3, Hoa Binh provincial Military Command, military commands of the related districts, and the Political Department of the General Staff for their effective assistance to the martyrs’ families. He stressed that the units should enhance their advisory role in the implementation of gratitude activities in the coming time.

Over the past time, the General Staff has effectively implemented gratitude programs to pay tribute to martyrs and national contributors. At present, the General Staff is taking care of 35 Vietnamese heroic mothers and has mobilized fund for the construction of nearly 400 gratitude and comrade houses and funded the construction of several number of public works such as kindergartens, primary schools, medical stations, etc. in localities nationwide.
