A report presented at the conference highlighted the General Staff's achievements in 2024, including effective leadership and coordination across the military to fulfill both regular and unexpected tasks. It stressed strict compliance with combat readiness regulations, awareness of all situations, and prompt recommendations to the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense for effective policy responses to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as collaborate with relevant forces to maintain political security and social order across the nation.

Key achievements included the building of draft laws on military and defense affairs, along with adjustments to force structural organization. Significant improvements were noted in training and education work, exercise and contest organization, as well as in building comprehensively strong units. The General Staff also strengthened Party and political work, raising awareness of military and defense missions, State laws, and military discipline observance among troops.

In his concluding remarks, General Nguyen Tan Cuong praised the General Staff’s accomplishment of military and defense tasks in 2024. He urged leaders, officers, and soldiers to thoroughly understand and effectively implement the tasks of 2025. He directed units to maintain strict combat readiness and ensure the provision of weapons, equipment, and logistics for missions.

The Chief of the General Staff also stressed the importance of promoting IT applications, building e-government infrastructure, advancing digital transformation under the Ministry of National Defense’s projects, and enhancing the use of electronic signatures for document processing.

Additionally, General Cuong instructed units to review and complete basic construction plans, effectively manage defense land, and ensure the provision of fuel for all missions. He urged units to actively participate in the campaign for efficient and safe management of military equipment and adherence to traffic safety regulations.

On this occasion, the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army launched the “Determined to Win” emulation movement for 2025 with the theme of “Democracy, solidarity, discipline, creativity, and determination to win.”
