The event was attended by Deputy Chiefs of the General Staff: Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Lieutenant General Nguyen Ba Luc, and Lieutenant General Truong Manh Dung, together with leaders and commanders of affiliated units.

Over the first six months, the General Staff directed the whole military’s units to strictly implement military and defense task directives in 2026. Meanwhile, the units strictly ensured combat readiness, regularly reviewed and updated combat readiness and fire prevention plans to effectively handle any situations. The building of comprehensively-strong, “exemplary and typical” units was strictly implemented, while security at the Defense Ministry headquarters and political and diplomatic events were ensured as regulated.

In addition to training missions as scheduled, judicial and legal units also pro-actively coordinated to disseminate law and promptly resolve violations. Party and political work was carried out effectively; logistics and technical service were fully maintained, to name but a few.

Concluding the conference, General Nguyen Tan Cuong highly valued the units’ achievements while pointing out shortcomings to be addressed. To successfully accomplish missions in 2026, the chief of the General Staff requested units to strictly implement the Resolution on tasks for the second half of the year. He urged them to excel in providing strategic advice to the Central Military Commission and the Defense Ministry, while commanding the military to maintain high combat readiness to firmly protect the Fatherland in any circumstances.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong also required Party organizations at all levels to focus on the management of troops’ thoughts, internal security, and military secrets, while stepping up the “Determined to win” emulation movement.

Regarding digital transformation and e-government, the general emphasized ensuring progress, implementing personal digital signatures, and maintaining information security. Finally, units must manage budgets in accordance with the law and strictly implement capital construction investment projects.
