General Phung Quang Thanh visits Military Technical Academy

PANO – General Phung Quang Thanh, Politburo Member, Deputy-Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and the Minister of National Defence paid a working visit to the Academy of Military Technology on November 1st.
Having reviewed modern scientific and technical products for military-defence and socio-economic development tasks manufactured by cadres and technicians of the academy, General Thanh worked with leaders and commanders of the academy.
During the working session, General Thanh took notes of the academy’s Director, Lieutenant General Pham The Long’s recommendations, on personnel and organization of the unit and the construction and establishment of Vietnam-Russia Technical University, the long-term capacity building plan, the adjustment of training program in accordance with reality and solving housing difficulties for cadres and lecturers.
General Phung Quang Thanh highly appreciated the achievements in education, training, scientific studies and staff building of the academy over the past time, saying that to help build the army more strongly to meet the demand of constructing and defending the nation in the new context, the Academy must promote the quality of weapons and military equipment as well as raise the quality of staff to master and effectively exploit modern weapons and technical equipment.
At the end of the meeting, General Thanh answered some academy’s recommendations and asked relevant organs of Defence Ministry to summarize recommendations to summit to leaders of the ministry for decision.
