General inspects Military Broadcasting Centre

PANO – Senior Lieutenant General Ngo Xuan Lich, Director of the General Department of Politics, paid a working visit to the Military Broadcasting Centre of Vietnam People’s Army and inspected the operation of its television channel, the Vietnam’s Defence Television (QPVN), on September 11th.
As instructed by the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defence and the General Department of Politics, efforts of the centre’s staff and the military-run telecom group Viettel, QPVN channel went on air, broadcasting 18.5 hours a day, from May 19th 2013.
So far, the channel has effectively fulfilled its role as an organ of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defence, the voice of the armed forces and people, and the bridge between troops and locals nationwide.
The channel, with about 40 major programs, is responsible for disseminating contents of national defence and security, the whole-people defence posture building in close attachment with a firm people’s security posture, defence foreign relations activities, patriotic emulation tradition, and Fatherland construction and protection.
After inspecting the centre’s facilities, the general highly valued the efforts of the its cadres and relevant units in operating the channel, and asked them to continue overcoming difficulties to increase the quality of the channel’s programs, follow close on military and national defence activities, fight against the peaceful evolution plot of hostile forces, promote the “Learning and following of President Ho Chi Minh's moral example” campaign, and bring into play its role in disseminating military and defence foreign relations activities as well as the national construction and protection cause.
