On behalf of the Central Military Commission and GDP’s leaders, General Cuong wished the former Party leader and GDP former leaders good health and hoped that they will further contribute to the revolutionary cause of the Party and military building mission.

During the visit, General Cuong briefed them on the task implementation of the whole military over the past time. Accordingly, military units have thoroughly grasped and well implemented resolutions, directives and decisions on military and defense missions and Party building. In addition, they have embraced the Politburo’s directive and Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong’s article on the preparation for Party congresses at all levels as well as effectively carried out movements, “Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morality and lifestyle” and “Promoting tradition, contributing talent, deserving to be Uncle Ho’s soldiers.”

Regarding Party and political work, General Cuong said that units in the whole military have paid attention to renewing political education methods, so as to raise the quality and effectiveness of the work. They fostered information dissemination, contributing to firmly protecting the ideological basis of the Party and fighting against wrong viewpoints and distorted allegations of hostile forces. Cuong also recalled military units’ achievements in “gratitude” activities over the past time.

He affirmed that in the coming time Party committees and chains-of-command of military units at all levels will focus their leadership on the implementation of missions set in the resolutions of the Party congresses of the 2015-2020 period and of the 10th Military Party Congress. In addition, the GDP will guide and instruct units in the whole military to make good preparations for the upcoming Party congresses at all levels, promote the quality and effectiveness of political education and organize activities to mark important celebration of the GDP, the Vietnam People’s Army and the whole People’s Defense Festive Day.

Former Party General Secretary Le Kha Phieu, General Nguyen Quyet and Senior Lieutenant General Pham Thanh Ngan expressed delight at military units’ achievements in the Party and political work over the past time. They hoped that the GDP will well play its role in making recommendations to the Politburo, the Party Central Committee's Secretariat, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense and instruct military units to successfully carry out the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress.

The former Party and GDP leaders urged military units to foster the implementation of emulation movements and political and ideological education to raise troops’ political stance while making good preparation for the upcoming Party congresses.
