Forty three paintings of 37 painters on display at the event were selected from 95 works created during a two-year period at composition camps in Tam Dao, Da Nang and Da Lat.
The selected works retraced the national great struggle against foreign invaders with the highlights of spirit of patriotism, outstanding feats of arms and the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the current national construction and defense cause.
Several outstanding works are “The afternoon on a battleship” by Nguyen Phu Hau (from Ho Chi Minh City), “The Ho Chi Minh Trail” by Nguyen The Huu (Hanoi), and “The Keepsakes” by Nguyen Anh Duong (Hue city), to name but a few.
