Engineer Corps’ Party Committee lauded for good task performance
PANO - Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, spoke highly of the outcomes of the Engineer Corps’ task performance this year under the sound leadership of its Party Committee.
Part of an exercise directed by the Engineer Corps
General Nam made that commendation at the Corps’ conference on December 12 to review its leadership over the implementation of its assigned missions and its Party building work in 2016, and to map out orientations and missions for 2017.
This year, under the leadership of the Corps’ Party Committee, the unit has accomplished all assigned missions, maintained political and ideological situations and promoted solidarity among its officers and soldiers.
Attentively, the unit has exerted all efforts to build defense facilities, effectively carry out mine action projects, well organize training courses, field exercises, sports festivals, implement Program 504 (the program on overcoming the aftermath of unexploded ordnance) and hold a series of activities in celebration of its 70th founding anniversary. Those meaningful activities helped educate its tradition among troops and encourage them to fulfill their assigned tasks.
Other highlights of the results of task performance this year were the strict observation of the unit’s discipline, regularity building, and assurance of logistics, techniques and finance for its operation.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the General Staff, General Nam asked the Corps’ Party Committee to concentrate their leadership on improving the quality of training and combat readiness ability and on fulfilling all assigned missions.
The Party Committee and the Command of the Engineer Corps were also requested to promote their consultative role on organizing and building the engineer forces as well as to try their best to meet all targets set for 2017.
